kinklabyrinth.com ("the Platform") is strictly reserved for adults aged 18 or older. This Policy explains the measures we use to prevent minors from accessing the Platform and our compliance posture under applicable U.S. state age-verification laws.
1. Current Measures
On first visit, every user encounters a mandatory age gate (at /age-gate) requiring confirmation of being 18 or older. Users who indicate they are under 18 are redirected away from the site.
At registration, users must declare their age (≥ 18) and expressly certify, under penalty of account termination and applicable law, that they are at least 18. We retain proof of this confirmation.
Our Terms of Service strictly prohibit use by minors, and any suspected minor account is immediately suspended, investigated and, where appropriate, reported to the authorities.
2. COPPA
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as defined in the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506. The Platform is not directed to children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
3. U.S. State Age-Verification Laws
An increasing number of U.S. states have enacted age-verification laws for websites hosting a substantial portion of sexually explicit content. We monitor compliance requirements in these states and adjust our access controls accordingly. Laws currently tracked include (non-exhaustive):
- Louisiana Act 440 (2022)
- Utah SB 287 (2023)
- Mississippi HB 1126 (2023)
- Virginia SB 1515 (2023)
- Arkansas SB 66 (2023)
- Montana SB 544 (2023)
- Texas HB 1181 (2023) — upheld by U.S. Supreme Court in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton
- Additional state laws enacted in 2024–2026 (Florida, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Kansas, Nebraska, Idaho, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina)
4. If Verified Age Assurance Becomes Required
The current age confirmation is self-declarative (self-attestation) — industry-standard for lower-risk general access but not a substitute for verified age assurance in states that require it. If a jurisdiction in which we have material traffic enacts an enforceable verified-age requirement, or if a payment processor or partner imposes one, we may integrate a third-party verification provider supporting one or several of the following options. No such integration is in production today; provider candidates considered include AgeID by VerifyMyAge, Yoti, Persona, Jumio and Incode.
- Document-based verification (ID + selfie liveness).
- Face-age estimation (privacy-preserving, no ID retention).
- Payment-card heuristic (last four digits, BIN checks) as a secondary signal.
- Re-verification upon suspicious signals or on entry from a jurisdiction requiring verified age.
5. Geo-Blocking
We may temporarily geo-block access from jurisdictions where compliant age-verification is not yet implemented. Users in those jurisdictions will see a notice explaining the situation.
6. Parental Tools
Parents and guardians should use parental-control tools. We recommend resources such as RTA labels (Restricted To Adults, https://www.rtalabel.org), Google Family Link, Apple Screen Time, Microsoft Family Safety, OpenDNS FamilyShield and similar. The Platform is RTA-labeled to facilitate content filtering.
7. Reporting a Minor
If you believe a minor has accessed the Platform, email contact@kinklabyrinth.com immediately with any available information. We treat such reports as absolute priority.
